The sun shone down on a fantastic day for two and four-legged friends alike, as the Freedom Road Riders hosted their Poker Run for Paws. The rumble of motorcycles filled the air as a passionate community came together to support Lambton Cat Rescue and CK Animal Rescue. And what a turnout it was!

With 42 registered riders hitting the open road, the event was already off to a great start. The energy continued to build throughout the day, culminating in a lively dinner attended by over 60 people. Enthusiasm was so high that over 30 t-shirts were sold as riders and supporters proudly showed their commitment to the cause.

The generosity of the motorcycle community shone brightly, with registration fees bringing in $760, 50/50 draws adding another $340, and raffle tickets raising an impressive $915. Thanks to a couple of incredibly generous additional donations, the Freedom Road Riders smashed their fundraising goal, bringing the total amount raised to a phenomenal $2,400! This incredible sum will be split evenly between Lambton Cat Rescue and CK Animal Rescue, meaning each deserving charity will receive $1,200.

The Freedom Road Riders extend a huge thank you to the Wallaceburg Legion for their warm welcome and unwavering support throughout the day. Their willingness to help in any way needed was invaluable to the event's success. Another shout-out goes to the Ridgetown Legion for being a stop on the poker run and generously donating $250! The support from these Legions truly exemplifies the spirit of community.

Of course, the biggest thanks goes to all the riders who made the commitment to participate and make the event such a resounding success. Your passion and dedication are what make events like this possible!

And finally, a heartfelt thank you to the Freedom Road Riders crew. From securing prize donations to setting up and tearing down, their tireless efforts and unwavering support were instrumental in making this Poker Run for Paws one for the history books!

Days like this are a powerful reminder of why we love riding. The camaraderie, the shared passion, and the opportunity to make a difference – it's an experience that speaks volumes. The Freedom Road Riders have proven yet again that the motorcycle community is one with a big heart and an even bigger roar!
